| Instructors, Students, family and friends travelled from all over the United Kingdom to meet and train together today at the C.M.A.A. 2009 annual summer training course.
Andrew Morrell opened the event with a 15 minute flexibility warm up then the adults and children were split in to 2 groups to be taught 40 minutes sessions by various C.M.A.A. Instructors, they were: - Steve Hallam, Gus Matsumura, John Barrass, Phil Wright, Chris Lowe, Richard Dillon, Martin Folan, Steve Youngman & Ian Travis. At the end of the 4 and a half hours came time for the awards. This year both Dan grade and Instructor awards were given out along with lower KYU grades. The awardees were as follows. INSTRUCTOR AWARDS Alan Young - Level 1 Instructor (with the highest recorded pass mark to date of 99%!!) KYU (Coloured Belt) GRADES Brandon Sherwin - 1st Kyu Tag Reece Wood - 2nd Kyu Cain Bennett - 6th Kyu Paul Edmondson - 1st Kyu Reece Green - 8th Kyu Courtney Smith - 5th Kyu Lauren Giblin - 3rd Kyu Ricky-Lee Olsen - 6th Kyu Kirsty Adshead - 2nd Kyu Jessica McDermott - 4th Kyu John Duggan - 3rd Kyu DAN (Black Belt) GRADES Mark Swindlehurst - 3rd Dan Karate-Jitsu Victoria Cuming - 3rd Dan Karate-Jitsu Phil Wright - 3rd Dan Freestyle Kickboxing Frank Chatburn - 3rd Dan Judo Peter Turton - 3rd Dan Judo Dave Cuming - 4th Dan Karate-Jitsu A trophy celebrating 3 years was also presented to Steve Hallam on behalf of the students and Instructors of S&H Kickboxing.
