| C.M.A.A. National Black Belt gradings are held twice per year infront of a Panel of nominated C.M.A.A. Instructors. WE WILL BE HAPPY TO GRADE YOU EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBERS OF THE C.M.A.A. (Private gradings available in these cases if required) Next C.M.A.A. Black Belt Grading in front or our Panel Location:- Dukinfield, Manchester (click here for location) Saturday 16th October 2010 at 12 noon PLEASE NOTE: Forms & fee must be at the C.M.A.A. office at least 8 days prior to the grading. No applications will be accepted on the day. Maximum candidates will be 20 so please book early. Belt Rank Identification Markings 1st Dan: 1 Red Stripe 2nd Dan: 2 Red Stripes 3rd Dan: 3 Red Stripes 4th Dan: 4 Red Stripes 5th Dan Masters Degree: 5 Red Stripes or Black & Red Block Belt (view) (Note: The wearer may choose to use the Black & Red Block Belt for all grades above 5th) 6th Dan Masters Degree: 6 Red Stripes or White & Red Block Belt (view) (Note: The wearer may choose to use the Red & White Block Belt for all grades above 6th) Grading Format on the day Parents, Friends & Instructors ARE allowed to spectate but are asked to remain quiet. SECTION 1 Kata, Forms & Weapons SECTION 2 Empty Hand Combinations & Start of Kickboxing Sections SECTION 3 Fitness & Stamina SECTION 4 Ippon Kumite, Self Defence, Kata Bunkai & Ju-Jitsu Techniques SECTION 4 Padwork (all styles) SECTION 5 Breaking (If relevant to Style) SECTION 6 Sparring The pass mark at all levels is 55% and no less. The panel must reach a majority decision regarding all passes. Scores will be given as 'A', 'B' or 'C'. In the event of a fail you will not be charged again when you retake your grading and will only be retested on the area that you failed in. | Black Belt 'Dan' Gradings Member Instructors may perform their own Dan gradings or use the C.M.A.A. Panel who grade twice per year, see below. Grades of 4th Dan and over are awarded for time served. Please click the Black Belt Register link above for further details. Certificates are available if you require them - click here to view. Cadet Dan Gradings Unlike other groups the C.M.A.A does not have 'minimum' age requirements relating to Cadet Dan grades, that decision is left at the discretion of club Instructors. C.M.A.A. Panel Black Belt Gradings Panel Black Belt Gradings are open to both members and non-members. If you you want us to grade you please get in touch.
