The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 states that if you have identified that first aiders are needed in your environment, they must gain a certificate of competence from a training organisation that has been approved by HSE. Before booking onto any course you should check that the trainer and, most importantly, the certificate you will receive are HSE approved. Cobra First Aid Trainer / Assessors Having spent 18 years (up to 2001) as a member of the St John Ambulance Brigade, Andrew Morrell is still a HSE approved First Aid Trainer / Assessor registered with First Response Associates. First Aid for Sport & Emergency First Aid This course will give you all the necessary first aid skills to deal with a whole range of sporting injuries and also for general use. Who should attend? This course is suitable for anyone involved in sporting & supervisory activities i.e. the Coach, Club Instructor or Assistant Instructor responsible for the well being of Staff, Students and Members. What they will learn ? Use of face shields ~ ~ Choking, Bleeding, Eye Injuries, Head Injuries ~ ~ Treatment of Shock, Cross infection ~ ~ Treatment of Sprains, Strains, Dislocations & Fractures ~ ~ Treatment of Strokes, Asthma, Epilepsy & Chest Pains ~ ~ Burns & Scalds ~ ~ Recording Incidents and First Aid Actions ~ ~ Course evaluation and closure ~ Course Duration 6 hours Assessment Continuous assessment throughout the course to include CPR & Roleplay Certification A Nationally recognised HSE certificate (valid for three years), is issued on successful completion of the course. However it is recommended that this is renewed every two years. Fees C.M.A.A. Licence Members: £30 (subsidised) Non-C.M.A.A. Members: £60 Accredited Prior Learning and Continued Professional Development This qualification will also be accredited to the Martial Arts Instructor UK Training Programme.
