Established in 2002 the C.M.A.A. has grown to be a very large and well-respected National Supporting Body catering for Instructors and Students of all styles around the United Kingdom and Eire.

We never forget it is your choice to join us and as such we accept that we do not 'own' you or your club nor will we interfere in its lawful management.

After you have read the following if you are still unsure about joining us, then please go to our links page and e-mail (or phone) any of our existing members and ask them for their opinion. Since joining us many of our clubs have benefited from the REAL SUPPORT we provide and as a result have seen their membership and club funds grow.

There are 2 ways to join us: AS A CLUB / AS A STUDENT


1 - AS A CLUB
Costs
You can join us along with your Club straight away for a small one off £30* joining fee, to cover admin' costs, after that as Member Club Instructor your own licence is free - every year.
Club registration is FREE, no matter how many venues you have.
Your own Dan gradings and the Dan gradings of your immediate family are FREE when done in front of our panel on the set day.
You can keep your own Clubs Identity as we understand how important that is to you and as such you do not need to change anything.

Insurance
Our Insurance has been arranged via Perkins Slade Ltd and covers members from 3 years old.
You will be issued with a Perkins Slade policy document, not one on a 'Martial Arts Group' letterhead as some others do. Click here for cover details.

Membership/Licence Books

C.M.A.A. Student membership includes a free card back licence book (view). However if you prefer you may use your own. If you don’t have your own already made the C.M.A.A. recommends Holmes Productions Ltd

 

Syllabus/Style
We recognise ALL styles, systems and proven grades without question and as such you are free to teach from your own Syllabus or use one of ours (view) if you want to. OR, of you prefer you can write your own with our help if you need it.

Student Gradings
ALL Instructors may grade their own students to KYU and Dan grade level.
Alternatively we do have a panel that you can use for Dan gradings should you wish to do so, or you can ask other local C.M.A.A. clubs to help out and make up your own panel.

Dan Gradings
As mentioned Instructors may perform their own Dan gradings or use the C.M.A.A. Panel, who grade twice per year, click here. Grades of 4th Dan and over are awarded for time served. Please see www.blackbeltregister.co.uk for further details.

Cadet Dan Gradings
Unlike other groups the C.M.A.A does not have 'minimum' age requirements relating to Cadet Dan grades, that decision is left at the discretion of club Instructors.

Training Courses & Events
The C.M.A.A. has developed our own Instructor/Coaching programme that Instructors can choose to use as well as HSE First Aid courses. Please see: -

As well as the above we run other training courses and events every month, these are all listed on the courses and events page of this site. If you have an event of your own to advertise, it too can be listed.
But if you don't want to get involved with our events etc then that's fine, what ever you decide we will always be here SUPPORTING YOU.

Club Size
If you have 1 or 100 students or you are still setting up your club it does not matter as we don't have the minimum student requirements that others do, nor do we have a long list of "Terms & Conditions" either.

Affiliated Groups
As well as the Martial Arts Standards Agency (MASA) The C.M.A.A. has also joined with several other Groups within the United Kingdom. As a C.M.A.A. member you would automatically become an Affiliate member of all of them as well FREE of charge.

Unlike other groups, even though our admin' is only open Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm we can still be contacted outside of these hours should you need to.
You will always be given a STRAIGHT answer to a STRAIGHT question STRAIGHT away.
